About Dave Bermingham
A lifelong guitarist, seasoned bandleader and versatile entertainer whose musical journey began in childhood and continues on stages throughout South Jersey, Philadelphia, Delaware and the Jersey Shore.
A Lifetime of Music
For Dave Bermingham, music has never been just a hobby. It has been a lifelong thread connecting childhood curiosity, formal jazz training, elegant celebrations, original composition, community events and the joy of performing familiar songs for a live audience.

From Eight Years Old to the Philadelphia Music Scene
Dave picked up the guitar at eight years old and quickly discovered the instrument that would shape the rest of his life. While still in high school, he began gigging with local bands around Philadelphia and the Jersey Shore, learning early how to connect with audiences, adapt to different rooms and become a dependable member of a working band.
That early experience led him to Temple University, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Jazz Guitar Performance. His studies gave him a strong foundation in harmony, improvisation, arranging and ensemble performance, skills that would later serve him in settings ranging from sophisticated private events to original jazz projects and solo acoustic shows.
Learning the Art of an Unforgettable Event
From 1990 through 2000, Dave performed with the high-end wedding band The Joe Luca Orchestra, working first through The Entertainment Group and later through Mainline Entertainment. Those years were an education in much more than music.
Performing regularly at country clubs, luxury hotels and premier catering facilities taught Dave how a successful party truly flows. He learned how to read a room, build energy at the right pace, keep a dance floor moving and work closely with catering managers and event professionals. The goal was always the same: create a seamless celebration that felt effortless to the guests and became an unforgettable experience for the hosts.
After 2000, Dave stepped away from regular performing to focus on raising his three children. The music never left him, and when the time was right, he returned with a deeper appreciation for the people and moments that live music brings together.

M-Town Jazz Jam and the Pinelands Jazz Festival
In 2012, Dave co-founded M-Town Jazz Jam, a nine-piece jazz ensemble built around an ambitious five-horn front line. As a guitarist, composer and arranger, he wrote original jazz compositions and created arrangements that gave the group its distinctive sound.
M-Town became an important part of the regional jazz community. From 2014 through 2019, the ensemble also hosted the Pinelands Jazz Festival, bringing musicians and audiences together for a celebration of live jazz in South Jersey.
A New Chapter in Live Music
Since 2022, Dave has returned to regular performing with a musical life that combines decades of experience with a fresh sense of fun.
Solo, Duo and Trio Performances
As a solo acoustic musician, Dave draws from a catalog of more than 500 songs spanning classic rock, country, pop, yacht rock, beach music and favorites from the 1960s through today. His performances are relaxed, interactive and tailored to the audience, with requests always welcome.
Dave also performs with his eldest son, David, in Soaking Wet Sandwiches. David is an accomplished steel drum player and drummer, and together the father-son duo brings a distinctive island-inspired sound to restaurants, wineries, private parties and community events.
The acoustic trio Sugar Sand Revival features Dave on guitar and vocals, Matt Miller on upright bass and David on drums. The trio blends strong musicianship, warm acoustic textures and familiar songs into a sound that fits everything from a laid-back afternoon to a lively night out.

Experience That Serves the Song and the Event
Whether he is playing an intimate winery, a busy restaurant, a country club, a community festival or a private celebration, Dave brings the same priorities to every performance: professional preparation, great songs, flexibility and a genuine connection with the audience.
